FIELDS OF APPLICATION
Sintoren K 418 is generally applied to the paper surface together with
starch. The result of application is increased tear strength, reduction
of dust production and better printing properties.
Additives with distinct anionic character (such as
carboxymethylcellulose, optical brighteners etc.) can cause
precipitation. Their compatibility with Sintoren K 418 should first be
checked in laboratory trials.
Sintoren K 418 is very effective on raw papers manufactured from both
acid and neutral stocks. The addition of aluminium sulphate to the paper
pulp is not necessary but does not interfere. There are no problems in
using chalk as a filler for the paper mass.
The amount applied is 0,3 - 2,5 % Sintoren K 418 respect to oven-dried
paper depending on the raw paper, presizing of the mass and the size
value required. The optimal amount and working conditions should be
determined by machine trials.
Sintoren K 418 can also be added to the mass for the sizing of paper
produced from neutral stock.
Here it is not necessary to add aluminium salts resp. promoters.
The amount added is 1 - 4 % Sintoren K 418 calculated on oven-dried
paper depending on the quality of raw material and the size value
required.
The dosage can be carried out directly in the machine trough or
continuously to the pulp stream.
DELIVERY FORM AND SAFETY MEASURES
Sintoren K 418 may be delivered in drums, 1000 kg container or
tanks. In the handling of Sintoren K 418 avoid contact with eyes,
skin, mucous membranes and wounds. Wear gloves and goggles and follow
other instruction contained in the safety data sheet.
STORAGE
Sintoren K 418 can be stored at temperatures between + 2°C and + 30°C
for at least 6 months. Protect from frost.
